Vallée du Lavedan – Sunrise

The last 2 weeks in Europe have been very cold, today we were the first area to get some warmer air off the Atlantic. A lot of the snow below 500m has melted today and while some fresh falls are forecast for next week, the worst of winter is over. The mountains are very busy now with winter sports holidays, this will last for the next 3 weeks, until the end of the French school holidays. Sometime in the next two to four weeks spring will arrive. I can’t wait!

I went for a walk early this morning. As I was leaving Argeles-Gazost to return to Saint-Savin by the Voie Verte (Green Way) the sun was rising above Hautacam.
