When does a bridge become a mountain?

Pont de Saint-Nazaire

Pont de Saint-Nazaire

When the Tour de France crosses it.

The Pont de Saint-Nazaire crosses the Loire estuary, it was opened in 1975, is 3356 meters long, the central span is 404 meters long, it is 13 meters wide and 68 meters high. The Tour will cross the bridge tomorrow on stage 3 from Olonne-sur-Mer to Redon a journey of 198km. The bridge will be the highest point of the stage at 68 meters. It will be known as Côte du Pont de Saint-Nazaire, the climb is 1.1 km at 4.9 % and is ranked as Category 4. One KOM point will be awarded to the first rider to the top. Should be a stage win for Mark Cavendish.
