Le Tour de France has crossed the col only once, on stage 16 in 2007. It was graded as Cat1. The Colombian rider Mauricio Soler was the first over the top, he went on to win the KOM competition overall that year. The Col is hotly tipped to be a Mountain Top Finish of the 2013 or 2014 Tour de France.

On the northern side the Col de Soudet was climbed in 1987 and was graded HC.
