Col du Portalet

Col du Portalet is 75km from Saint Savin, the summit is 1807m. To get there you will have to climb the Col de Soulor and Col d’Aubisque.

The beautiful Ossau valley near the summit. This valley is the last home of the Brown Bear.
They numbered only 5 or 6 in the early 1990′s, a reintroduction program was started in 1995.
The population in the Pyrenees at the end of 2007 was estimated at 25.
