Col du Tourmalet June Snow

by velopeloton on June 21, 2010 · 0 comments

Yesterday was the coldest June day on record for the Hautes Pyrenees. The previous record was in 1948. Thankfully after 10 days of bad weather we are now returning to more seasonal temperatures.

Col du Tourmalet

Col du Tourmalet. 20th June 2010, fresh snow.

4 of our guests cycled up to the summit despite the cold. Keith, Bill, Jack & Len from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, USA. This town is at an altitude of 1900m so they are used to the cold.
