So far January has continued as 2011 finished, mild and dry. Méteo France say that 2011 was the warmest year on record with temperatures 2°c above normal. The Hautes Pyrénées has had record rainfall over the last 2 days and it’s still raining. In the village of Salles, just north of Argeles-Gazost, 198mm (19.8 litres per square metre) of rain was measured in 24 hours. Argeles-Gazost has had 122mm.
